We have a miniature Daschund and she loves this toy. She's not a big eater, but this seems to stimulate her to eat. At first, she tried to rough house it and chew it, but after showing her that food drops out by rolling it slowly in front of her, she got it. We got the 4" ball and there's no way she can get her lower jaw into the hole. Our dog is 10lbs. Hope this is helpful.
If your cats need some exercise, go for it!
My cat is hooked and will b I get us to the toy to activate it! He loves the laser light. He took time to warm up to the s irking hands, but will now grab them and carry off his conquered toy to chew on the top! It's quite the look as he drags it off for a private chew with the big ball hanging off to the side. Truly amazing distraction for a busy professional couple! Works best on non-carpeted surfaces. We don't use it for treats... just didn't want a mess.
I was skeptical about this toy but I have two cats who are just about one year old now and ping pong balls and mice are not entertaining enough for them anymore. They are looking for more ways to get into trouble so I decided to try this out. I thought they would be intimidated by the spinning wand on the top, and they were for about five minutes, but now this is their favorite toy. They will meow at us to make it go again when it stops because they love batting it around and having fun with it. I thinking of getting a second one so they each have one to play with.
Both of my boys love it but it would probably be better not on carpeting. Once they realized there were treats in there the little one was all over it! The older boy sat back at the patio door staring the dogs down lol! And of course he waited for baby brother to “release†the treats then he was over there trying to eat them first! Love my babies!
