A $2M+ commission workflow, turned into explicit rules, a working prototype and a validated path to production.
The problem
A monthly commission run depended on processor files, changing rates, merchant mapping, adjustments and manual reconciliation. The process took five days to run manually.
What I did
- Owned the operating process and mapped rules and exceptions.
- Built an AI-assisted Python, Streamlit and PostgreSQL prototype.
- Translated the workflow into requirements for product and engineering.
- Reconciled parallel outputs and investigated the differences.
The result
- 30–45 minutes for the documented platform test run versus the five-day manual run.
- June and July parallel comparisons provided evidence for validation and exception investigation.
- Production implementation and deployment were delivered by engineering.
- The CEO reports that the recurring run now takes under an hour and has been right to the cent on every run.
